Certification Class & Student Testimonial Video Production – When you’re marketing a training or certification program, prospective students don’t just want to know what they’ll learn. They also want to know what the experience is actually like.
Chaze Films worked with Maria Rose Inspires to create video content around its hair extension certification program, including filming a live certification class in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and interviewing students about their experience.
The result combined class coverage, student testimonials and educational video marketing to give prospective students an inside look at the program while providing social proof from people who had actually completed the training.
Showing the Training Experience
Rather than simply explaining what happens during the certification program, we wanted prospective students to be able to see it.
We filmed throughout the live hair extension certification class, capturing students learning techniques, working hands-on and interacting with the instructors.
That footage became the visual foundation of the main video and helped show what someone considering the program could expect from the class.
For a professional training or certification program, this type of video can help answer an important question before someone registers:
What is it actually going to be like when I get there?
Adding Social Proof Through Student Testimonials
Seeing the class was only part of the story.
We also interviewed four students about their experience with the program and incorporated their perspectives throughout the main video.
Students spoke about the hands-on and one-on-one nature of the training, learning advanced hair extension techniques, the importance of maintaining hair integrity, and how adding another certification could help further their careers.
Instead of having the company make all of those claims itself, prospective students could hear directly from people who had experienced the training firsthand.
Those interviews also gave us an opportunity to create individual student testimonial videos and short form social media videos, in addition to the main class video, turning one production into multiple pieces of marketing content.
Creating More Than a Class Recap Video
Although much of the b-roll came from filming the live class, the goal wasn’t simply to create an event recap video.
The video was designed as a marketing asset that could help build awareness, show the training experience and provide social proof for people considering future classes.
This really helps with the conversion stage of the customer journey that we discuss on our video services page.
The main video was used on the program’s landing page and continues to be featured on the company’s website years after it was originally produced.
The individual student testimonial videos also continue to appear on the company’s testimonial page.
Supporting a Larger Video Marketing Strategy
This video was part of a larger multi-video project Chaze Films produced for Maria Rose Inspires across several shoots in 2021 and 2022.
In addition to the certification class video and individual testimonials, the project included a Brand Video, explainer content, short-form social media videos and training content.
Short-form videos gave the company additional content for social media marketing and awareness.
Years later, several pieces of that content remain in use across the company’s digital presence, including the certification video, testimonial videos, Brand Video and a short-form video that remains pinned on its Instagram profile.
It’s a good example of how training video production can extend beyond simply documenting a class. By combining the experience itself with authentic student testimonials and creating multiple pieces of content from the production, video can help a training or certification program show prospective students not only what they’ll learn, but why past students found the experience valuable.
